SportsPower Trampolines: Your essential buying guide
Measure the clear, level space available and allow extra room around the trampoline for safe access. Smaller round trampolines can suit compact gardens, while larger models need more open space and careful placement away from fences, trees and hard surfaces.
Round trampolines are a popular all-round choice for family garden use, while rectangular designs can suit more directional bouncing and narrower spaces. Oval trampolines may offer a balance of length and width, making them worth considering if your garden layout is not suited to a circle.
Look for a secure enclosure net, padded springs or covered elastic systems, a stable frame and a well-fitting entrance. It is also sensible to check the stated user guidance and make sure the trampoline is suitable for the intended age and use.
Some trampolines come with key items such as an enclosure or ladder, while others may require extras separately. Accessories such as covers, anchor kits, replacement pads and ladders can help with day-to-day use, weather protection and upkeep.
Compare the full specification rather than just the headline price. Check the size, frame material, enclosure design, included accessories, weight guidance and whether replacement parts are easy to source for the model you are considering.
Choosing a trampoline is about matching the model to your garden, the people using it and the level of maintenance you are comfortable with. The right option should fit safely in your outdoor space and include the features you need from the start.
Before comparing trampolines, measure the area where it will sit and make sure the ground is flat and stable. Leave a clear gap around the outside so users can get on and off safely and so the enclosure is not pressed against walls, fences or planting.
Round trampolines work well in many garden layouts, but rectangular or oval options may be easier to position in long or narrow spaces. Think about how the trampoline will affect the rest of the garden, including seating areas, paths and lawn maintenance.
A good enclosure helps keep bouncing contained, while padded edges cover impact points around the frame or springs. Check how the net attaches, how the entrance closes and whether the padding appears shaped to fit the frame properly.
If you are comparing models for younger users, details such as low access height, secure zips or clips and a well-supported net can make everyday use feel more manageable.
Trampolines can vary in what they include as standard. Some listings may feature a ladder, cover, anchor kit or shoe storage, while others focus on the frame, mat and enclosure only.
Compare the complete package so you can judge whether you will need to buy extras separately. This is especially useful if you want a ready-to-use setup or are replacing specific worn parts.
Outdoor trampolines are exposed to changing weather, so it is worth thinking beyond the initial purchase. Covers, anchor kits and replacement pads can help keep the trampoline usable and tidy over time.
If the trampoline will stay outside for long periods, check whether compatible accessories and spares are available. This can make it easier to refresh the setup rather than replacing the whole trampoline.
A larger trampoline is not always the best choice if it overwhelms the garden or is harder to position safely. Balance bounce area with stability, access, storage needs and the likely number of users.
When browsing deals on ShopSmarty, compare the trampoline’s specification carefully so you can spot differences in frame design, enclosure style and included accessories before making a decision.
