Haier Series 6 XDD66E5LS 12 Place 60cm Double Fully Integrated Dishwasher
HaierHaier Dishwashers: Your essential buying guide
Choose a full-size dishwasher if you regularly wash up after family meals or batch cooking, a slimline model if floor space is tight, or a compact dishwasher for smaller kitchens and lighter use. Always check the product dimensions as well as the place setting capacity.
A freestanding dishwasher is visible and can usually be positioned more flexibly, provided plumbing and space allow. An integrated dishwasher is designed to sit behind a kitchen cabinet door for a seamless fitted look, so accurate measurements and compatible cabinetry are especially important.
Useful programmes include eco wash for everyday efficiency, quick wash for lightly soiled loads, intensive wash for pans and heavily marked dishes, and glass or delicate settings for fragile items. The best choice depends on how you normally load and use the machine.
Noise level matters most in open-plan kitchens, flats and homes where the dishwasher may run in the evening. Compare the decibel rating if you want a quieter appliance, and consider models with night or quiet programmes if low-noise running is a priority.
Look for adjustable baskets, foldable plate supports, cutlery trays or baskets, delay start, clear remaining-time displays and automatic door opening for drying. These features can make loading, unloading and fitting awkward items much more convenient.
A good dishwasher should suit your kitchen layout, household size and the way you cook. Before comparing models, measure your space carefully and think about the types of loads you wash most often.
Freestanding dishwashers are a practical choice if you want a visible appliance that can sit under a worktop or in an open space. They are often straightforward to compare because the finish, controls and front panel are all part of the appliance design.
Integrated dishwashers are built to sit behind a matching kitchen door. They are ideal for a streamlined kitchen, but you will need to check whether you need a fully integrated or semi-integrated design and confirm the dimensions match your cabinet space.
Capacity is usually described in place settings, but it is also worth thinking about your everyday crockery, pans and cooking habits. A couple who cooks simple meals may need less space than a household that uses large trays, mixing bowls and multiple pans.
If you are short on space, slimline dishwashers can offer a useful compromise. Compact models may suit very small kitchens or occasional washing up, but they will not handle the same load sizes as full-size machines.
Eco, quick, intensive and auto programmes cover most daily needs. Auto programmes can be convenient because the machine adjusts the wash based on the load, while quick cycles are useful when dishes are lightly soiled and needed again soon.
Interior flexibility can be just as important as the programme list. Adjustable upper racks, fold-down tines and dedicated cutlery trays help you fit taller glasses, larger plates and awkward cookware more easily.
Check the energy label and water use information to understand how a dishwasher is designed to perform over time. Eco programmes may take longer, but they are intended to reduce resource use for everyday loads.
Drying performance varies between models. Features such as automatic door opening, improved airflow or dedicated drying systems can help reduce the amount of hand drying needed after a cycle.
If you are updating more than one appliance, compare your dishwasher alongside other home appliances so the finish, size and controls work well together in your kitchen. This is especially useful when balancing built-in and freestanding designs.
